The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered PC Port Gets Yet Another Update for April 2025

Summary

  • Nixxes released Patch 1.2 for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PC, fixing and improving gameplay.
  • The update includes fixes for weapon firing glitches and No Return mode issues.
  • Patch 1.2 offers visual improvements, ultra-wide setup bug fixes, and better frame rates with DLSS.

Nixxes has released its third update in six days for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered‘s PC port. April has been a stacked month for Naughty Dog’s groundbreaking zombie survival shooter series, with the HBO show starting its second season on the heels of the long-awaited PC version of the remastered second game. PC players will now get to enjoy The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered a little bit more, thanks to the latest round of bug fixes and improvements.

The PC rollout of TLOU Part 2 Remastered, predictably, has not garnered the same level of excitement as the sequel’s original 2020 PlayStation release, but it’s still enjoyed a decent level of success. While The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered‘s PC player count fell short of The Last of Us Part 1‘s PC release, it still cracked the top 10 in PlayStation-published titles, both in Steam sales and peak player count. It also sits at a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, which might seem impressive for a game with such a notoriously controversial narrative.

The Last of Us Part 2 can be a hard journey for players, in terms of emotion and encounters, so here are a few tips to help along the dangerous road.

Nixxes Software, the developer in charge of bringing TLOU Part 2 Remastered to PC, has kept busy ensuring the port works as well as it can, releasing its third update for April 2025. The last patch fixed TLOU Part 2 Remastered‘s autosave feature, something that was noticeably missing from the first big update. This latest one, Patch 1.2, is fairly small by comparison, but still offers some needed improvements. Most notably, it fixes some glitches that caused some weapons to not fire on the first mouse click or would automatically fire a weapon while in stealth.

The update also addresses some issues in the PC port’s No Return mode, including one where players wouldn’t get the weapon skins they’ve earned by completing challenges. An update before the PC launch gave The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered some brand-new No Return content, so not being able to experience it all was frustrating for some fans.

Patch 1.2 has a handful of visual improvements and fixes as well. Some of these address bugs unique to ultra-wide setups, which is nice considering that ultra-widescreen support was a highlight of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered‘s PC features when Naughty Dog unveiled those back in March. Upscaling, another key selling point of the game’s PC version, has also received some attention, alongside various minor bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and localization fixes.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered PC Patch 1.2 Notes

  • Addressed a bug where players were unable to fire weapons on the first mouse click, after using the mouse to restart a checkpoint.
  • Fixed an issue where players would automatically fire their weapon, when aiming after a stealth kill, if the Reload/Quick Throw/Use action was mapped to [R].
