Blizzard recently offered insight into Overwatch 2’s upcoming Stadium mode, which offers some of the most ambitious changes that the game has seen.
Ahead of the update, Overwatch 2 has released a trailer showing off these Season 16 features and more. Tons of new skins are coming to Overwatch 2, including a cycle of Dokiwatch magical girl skins. Mythic Heart of Hope Juno and Mercy’s Mythic Merciful Magitech weapon make up the core of these skins, alongside magical girl cosmetics for Brigitte, Widowmaker, Kiriko, Freja, and D.Va. Beyond that, players can get plenty of other skins from the Battle Pass and shop, including demonic rock band skins for Ashe, Illari, Lifeweaver, and Mauga, royalty skins for Mercy, Genji, Hanzo, Venture, Lifeweaver, and Ana, and the new Iridescent Aspects for every Overwatch 2 Mythic skin.

A new round of Overwatch: Classic is coming, featuring the balance period from October 2020 in which Echo rounded out the entire cast of playable heroes in the original game. What’s more, the season-long Stadium: Initiation event will enable fans to earn Name Cards, Player Icons, an Epic and Legendary Loot Box, and the Rookie Soldier: 76 Epic skin – which matches the skins one can earn for Genji, Orisa, Moira, and Juno by reaching certain ranks in Stadium – simply by playing the new game mode.
Were this not exciting enough, the Season 16 trailer ended with a stinger confirming a Gundam collaboration is coming. Posts from the official Overwatch 2 Twitter account congratulating Gundam Wing on its 30th anniversary, plus several datamined assets, hinted the anime and FPS might be teaming up soon, and though fans will have to wait for exact details, they can expect several new shop skins in the crossover, including one for Mercy.
