Pokemon Masters EX has officially announced the next event coming to the monster-catching mobile game, featuring new versions of a pair of popular Trainers. The battle-oriented mobile game of the beloved monster-catching franchise puts a unique spin on the series’ standard formula, putting more of a focus on the iconic characters alongside the beloved creatures. Pokemon and Trainers typically come in pairs known as “Sync Pairs” within the game, allowing players to team up with some of their favorite characters from throughout Pokemon history. Now, a brand-new event is set to arrive to the mobile game.

Throughout the more than five years since Pokemon Masters EX first debuted, the game has introduced a wide array of beloved trainers and Pokemon. Masters EX saw the first inclusion of anime protagonist Ash Ketchum in a Pokemon video game in more than two decades, with the launch of the Ash and Pikachu Sync Pair. The game has also often released different variants of Pokemon franchise staples, pairing trainers like Marnie, Lillie, and Ethan up with different combinations of Pokemon. January 3 is going to be an exciting day for Pokemon Masters EX players as the game’s first major event of the year takes shape.

Pokemon Masters EX recently announced the next major event coming to the mobile game, set to introduce two brand-new Sync Pairs. The event will be the next entry into the ongoing “Academy” event series, with new Sync Pairs and outfits for both Pokemon Sword and Shield‘s Marnie and Pokemon Gold and Silver‘s Morty. Both Trainers will be paired up with some new Pokemon as well, with Marnie forming a Sync Pair with Cyclizar and Morty joining up with a Hisuian Typhlosion. Pokemon Masters EX‘s next Academy event is scheduled to officially begin on April 15.

Pokemon Masters EX Event Adding New Sync Pairs

The addition of a new batch of Sync Pairs will add to the already expansive roster of Pokemon Masters EX with hundreds of different in-game sets available. The mobile game has included everything from prominent Trainers and Gym Leaders to representatives of many of the franchise’s standard Trainer classes, like Poke Kids and Hex Maniacs. The many different Sync Pairs have also introduced a plethora of fan-favorite Pokemon like Eevee, Pikachu, and each of the different Eeveelutions.
