During the new episode of the Game Mess Mornings stream, Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb said that The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion remake will shadow drop during the week of April 21, potentially following The Elder Scrolls Online anniversary event on April 22. Grubb claimed that he had received separate confirmation regarding the date, and that he is “getting excited” about the rumored title’s release. Earlier in April, the Steam page for Oblivion was suddenly updated, and with more and more well-known reporters and insiders weighing in on the release, many in the community still believe that it may happen.

Several Insiders Claim the Oblivion Remake Will Drop During the Week of April 21

Past rumors indicate that the Oblivion remake will be “fully remade” using Unreal Engine 5, and will include completely reworked gameplay systems to appeal to the modern audience. Many fans were frustrated when, in late March, Bethesda failed to make an announcement on Oblivion‘s anniversary, missing what would have been the perfect opportunity to showcase the reworked game.

Bethesda has given no comment regarding the existence of the Oblivion remake, with the company keeping busy with other projects in the meantime.
