Disney Dreamlight Valley Adding Star Wars Content

Disney Dreamlight Valley will be receiving some Star Wars-themed cosmetics very soon, as revealed by developer Gameloft during the recent Wonderland Whimsy developer update. Disney Dreamlight Valley is, of course, no stranger to Disney-related content, as well as Pixar themes, and since George Lucas’ space epic is now owned by Disney, it was only a matter of time before Star Wars content jumped from hyperspace into the game.

First released in 2023, the life simulation adventure game sees players thwarting a curse from the titular valley so that various Disney and Pixar characters can return to their rightful homes. So far, the title has welcomed characters from Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story, Hercules, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and many more. Disney Dreamlight Valley previously teased a Spring 2025 content update was on the way, inviting players to step into a land of wonder, but the community didn’t have Alice bumping into R2-D2 on their bingo cards.

Posted on the official Disney Dreamlight Valley YouTube, a short video presentation was uploaded, showcasing the Alice in Wonderland-themed content that was arriving in the upcoming Wonderland Whimsy update. However, to celebrate the imminent May 4, it was also announced the game would be adding the droid R2-D2 as a companion, a Naboo-styled fashion option, alongside a new lightsaber hand accessory complete with its own Jedi-worthy photo pose, and these items are confirmed to arrive in the Premium Shop ahead of this date. The crossover with the galaxy far, far away has been on the community’s mind before, as Disney Dreamlight Valley players had already imagined a Star Wars spin-off game and what it would look like.

Disney Dreamlight Valley started releasing Alice in Wonderland content last year, and players were delighted to see Star Wars cosmetics coming to the valley. One 74-year-old fan commented this was the best update ever, and another shared their excitement at being able to add R2-D2 as their companion while adventuring.

Over in the Star Wars universe, announcements will be bubbling in preparation for this year’s May 4 celebrations, including the return of the Disney Plus Andor series set to premiere season 2 on April 22. Additionally, a new single-player Star Wars game was announced by Respawn and Bit Reactor titled Star Wars Zero Company, and the project has teased a wide variety of characters that will be featured, rumored to include The Mandalorian. Fans can wait in anticipation to hear more details during the Star Wars Celebration event in Japan on April 19.
