EA has reportedly sent out more Battlefield Labs invites to some players to playtest the next game in the long-running Battlefield series. In recent months, EA has used Battlefield Labs to gauge feedback on potential adjustments and gameplay changes while developing the new title.
The next new Battlefield game, often referred to by fans as Battlefield 6, is being developed by the largest team the franchise has ever had. The Battlefield 6 development team includes Criterion, EA Motive, Ripple Effect, and Battlefield series developers DICE. With many new features and components in development, the Battlefield Labs program allows players to test out the concepts during the game’s early development stage. The developers use feedback from the Battlefield Labs program to decide on what should be implemented into the new game, which is expected to launch within EA’s 2026 fiscal year, which runs from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. Periodically, new invites are sent out to get more players into the program under an NDA.

EA Sends Out New Battlefield Labs Invites to Let Players Test Out Battlefield 6 Features
Initially, only a few thousand participants were selected to join Battlefield Labs when it was announced in February 2025 for Europe and North America. However, EA reassured fans that “tens of thousands” of invites would be sent out to players over time. In addition, Battlefield Labs promised to add support and servers for other regions around the world.
Joining Battlefield Labs gives players an exclusive opportunity to see how Battlefield could change in Battlefield 6. For example, the developers at DIVE revealed an extensive update regarding major gameplay changes and additions for the next Battlefield game this past March. These changes and features include unique and exclusive recoil patterns for weapons, revamped movement animations, improved gunplay with camera shakes and firing adjustments, indicators for movement options, and 60Hz-optimized servers. Leaks in March also indicated that the controversial 3D spotting feature could be making a return in Battlefield 6, and a battle royale mode was leaked earlier this month.
