Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is one of the biggest successes of the year so far. Launched back in February, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has continued to pass major sales milestones, giving developer Warhorse Studios a well-deserved hit. Critics have praised the game for its incredible dedication to realism, and the developer has only continued to improve the game even further since its launch through various patches.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has finally released its 1.2.4 update, adding the free Hardcore Mode feature that Warhorse Studios has been promising for a while. Hardcore Mode in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was accidentally made available via console commands last month, albeit in an unfinished state, but the full version is now here for players to enjoy. The idea is to make the game a much tougher experience, with players being required to take three permanent negative perks at the start of each playthrough. Fast travel is no longer an option, either, and players won’t be able to see Henry’s position on the map automatically. Even combat has been changed, with Warhorse Studios stating, “They’ll try to flank you, so fighting multiple opponents is much harder.”
Outside of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2‘s punishing Hardcore Mode, Patch 1.2.4 also comes with various other essential fixes. Shop prices for herbs have been rebalanced, several perks have been fixed, and issues with saving when installing too many mods have been resolved. Perhaps most important of all, Warhorse Studios has added the bald hairstyle option for Henry in the barber. It’s not the most significant patch beyond Hardcore Mode, but that should be plenty to keep players busy.
Even with the free updates for the game, Warhorse Studios is still working on paid Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 DLC. The plan was to have three paid DLCs come out this year according to the original roadmap, so players will have to remain patient to see what the studio is working on for later this year.
