Xbox Support may have just accidentally revealed The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered‘s release date. It’s been a hectic time for Bethesda fans, as leaks and rumors have abounded about what may be one of the worst-kept secrets in gaming right now. While there’s still no official announcement for the remastered version of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, fans have already found screenshots, title cards, supported platforms, and, now, its release day.
Multiple insiders and leakers had all but confirmed the remaster, though some called it a remake, some time ago, but recent leaks have seemingly cleared any remaining doubt. On April 15, fans found Oblivion Remastered screenshots and promotional images on Virtuos Games’ official website. Those leaked details confirmed that the game was real and coming to Xbox Series X, PS5, and PC, but the timeline was still uncertain. Xbox Support now seems to have cleared that up.

How the Oblivion Remake Could Change Combat
Rumors of an official remake of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion are still prominent, with combat being one area that the project should aim to improve.
The same day as the Virtuos leak, Twitter user Ser_Raven18 posted a conversation they had with Xbox Support that gave away even more details. When asked when Oblivion Remastered would be available on cloud gaming, the support bot replied that it would release on April 21, 2025, as a day-one title on Xbox Game Pass. While these automated replies are not an official or infallible source, that time frame does line up with what many were expecting. Multiple insiders have previously suggested the Oblivion remaster would release in the week of April 21, though some said it would come a few days later from there, potentially shadow-dropping on April 22 after the Elder Scrolls Online event.
Xbox Support Says Oblivion Remastered Will Release on April 21, 2025
If these details prove true, Oblivion Remastered will add to an already stacked month for Xbox’s subscription service. Microsoft has already confirmed six-day-one releases for Xbox Game Pass in April, and now it seems like subscribers will get a seventh with the Oblivion remaster. Another user, SynthPotato, was able to get even more information from Xbox Support on Twitter. In their conversation with Support, the bot said that the Oblivion Remastered version on Xbox Game Pass will include all DLCs from the original game. That could mean subscribers will get the Deluxe Edition teased by the leaked Virtuos Games images.
Through these conversations, Xbox Support also revealed that Oblivion Remastered will be available on Xbox One, not just newer consoles, as indicated by previous leaks. All in all, it’s gearing up to be a big release. Even so, the makers behind the fan-made Skyblivion said they’re not worried about an official remaster, as they intended it as a passion project, not something to profit from. Regardless, between Skyblivion and the official Oblivion Remastered, it’s a good time to be an Elder Scrolls fan.
