Palia Gets PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Release Date

The free-to-play fantasy life sim Palia will make its way to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on May 13 alongside the highly anticipated Elderwood expansion. Currently available for PC and Nintendo Switch, Palia will finally welcome even more players into its cozy world next month.

First announced to great fanfare in 2021, Palia is the debut game from Singularity 6, a studio consisting of several former Blizzard and Riot developers. In the game, players find themselves unceremoniously tossed into the world of the Majiri people, who have long since believed that humans had gone extinct. Part of the ever-popular cozy genre, Palia doesn’t feature combat, instead tasking its players with farming, gathering, crafting, hunting, insect catching, cooking, and more. The developers have rolled out 24 content updates since the title’s release, with plenty more to come. Now, a long-awaited announcement is finally here, and the fantasy game is gearing up to welcome plenty of new adventurers.

As announced in a new trailer, Palia will be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on May 13, the same day as the long-awaited Elderwood expansion. The latter promises to be the game’s largest update since its launch, bringing with it a darker zone filled with fresh creatures, quests, and some new creepy lore for players to sink their teeth into. Both the PS5 and Xbox ports of Palia will feature cross-play with both the PC and Switch versions of the game. Additionally, those eager to invite their friends to play can take advantage of Palia‘s “Refer a Friend” program, which rewards those bringing in new players with five different sizes of the “Elderwood Fun Guy” plush.

Palia Release Date for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S

Since its release in open beta in 2023, the fantasy title has continued to grow and evolve, with players now having access to over 800 housing decor items and countless ways to interact with the game’s world. In Palia‘s January 2025 update, premium players were given a new way to earn rewards with Zeki’s Loyalty Club, which doles out rewards to members logging in each day. The patch also introduced the Luna New Year, one of many seasonal events to take place in Palia throughout a year.

2025 is shaping up to be a good year for fans of cozy games, with titles like Wanderstop and Sugardew Island already soothing audiences and several heavy hitters still slated to be released in the coming months. Most notably, Tales of the Shire will hit shelves in July and transport players to one of Middle-earth’s most beloved regions.
