New Pokemon TCG Eevee Cards Are Going to Be Super Hard to Get

Pokemon TCG has revealed a new booster focused on Eevee and the Eeveelutions, and it will arrive on May 16 exclusively in China. Eevee and its evolutions are among the most beloved Pokemon by fans and this is no different with Pokemon TCG.

One of the most coveted Eeveelution cards is Holofoil Umbreon VMAX, from the Evolving Skies set. Popularly called “Moonbreon,” the card stands out for its rarity and usefulness. Sylveon EX #156 is another example: released as part of the Prismatic Evolutions expansion, this card has a stunning illustration and lethal attacks. Eevee and Eeveelutions continue to attract the attention of Pokemon TCG fans, who will soon have more cards to collect.

Poke Beach has revealed Gem 2, a new booster pack focused on Eeeve and the Eeveelutions that will hit shelves on May 16. The pack will be released exclusively in China and come with four holo cards, among them rare illustrations of Eevee and its evolutions made by HYOGONOSUKE, although only four have been revealed so far. Each pack will include a different holofoil variation: Eeveelutions cards with their type icons, cards with a Gem 2 promotional seal, full art V cards, and HYOGONOSUKE’s cards.

The History of Eevee and Eeveelutions Pokemon TCG Cards

Eevee got a Pokemon TCG card for the first time in 1999 with the release of the Jungle expansion, appearing on 68 other cards released throughout the years. The first Vaporeon, Flareon, and Jolteon cards debuted in the same set, with the trio featured on another 28, 30, and 31 cards. With the release of the Neo Discovery expansion in 2001, fans saw the first Umbreon and Espeon cards, which over the years received another 25 and 26 cards. Introduced in 2008 with the release of the Majestic Dawn expansion, Glaceon and Leafeon have gained another 18 and 19 cards. The most recent addition to the family, Sylveon, debuted in 2017 as part of the XY Black Star Promos set and then appeared on another 16 cards.

China has been releasing Pokemon TCG sets since 2022 to keep up with the rest of the world. With cards in simplified Chinese, the Chinese market began in the Sun and Moon era and is currently in the Scarlet and Violet cycle. For fans in the West, the next Pokemon TCG set will be Destined Rivals, which is coming on May 30. The expansion brings back the Trainer’s Pokemon mechanic and puts the spotlight on Team Rocket cards.
