Kyedae Steps Away From Streaming

Twitch streamer Kyedae Shymko has announced that she’s stepping away from streaming for an indefinite period of time. Known for her Valorant streams, Kyedae has built a community on Twitch that watched and supported her growth as a content creator and gamer throughout the years.

Outside of gaming, longtime fans know about Kyedae’s openness to share important updates in her life if she wishes to publicize them. One example of this was Kyedae revealing her cancer diagnosis back in 2023, which she has since received chemotherapy treatment for. While she’s gone back to creating content out of her Valorant games, many have also noticed that her streaming schedule has been inconsistent lately.

Amazon-owned streaming giant Twitch lifts its suspension on popular American streamer ExtraEmily just one day after issuing the ban.

Earlier this week, Kyedae made a shocking announcement at the end of her stream that she “probably won’t be back to streaming for a while,” adding that she’s done with streaming and that she would only show up randomly from time to time from this point on. Kyedae later posted a lengthy statement on Twitter, saying that she had been thinking about quitting streaming for years, and admitted that it was never her dream or end goal. She also cited recent health complications and shifting priorities, such as competing in Valorant Game Changers, as some of her reasons for stepping away. While Kyedae called it “an indefinite break from streaming,” many believe that she will be officially retiring from doing it as a full-time job.

Kyedae Takes Indefinite Break From Twitch

Many fans and fellow Twitch streamers like Pokimane and TinaKitten wished Kyedae luck as she embarks on her next journey outside of streaming. Some also expressed their happiness that Kyedae will be able to compete in Game Changers in the near future. Kyedae’s Game Changers team is still unknown, but she had previously competed as part of Disguised’s roster in 2023, along with teammates QuarterJade, Sydeon, and Tenzin.

There have been many streamers and creators in the past who have stepped away from making content for a variety of reasons, from creative burnout to personal reasons they’ve kept private. Famous YouTuber Jacksepticeye is known for taking breaks from the platform to look after his mental health and also managing other projects on the side. He was known for churning out daily videos for years before finally deciding to only upload whenever he wanted to, and not because he felt obligated to meet a quota. Similarly, top streamer Pokimane has also been candid about her inconsistent streaming schedule over the years, mostly because she’s prioritizing her personal life and other projects outside of Twitch.
