The highly anticipated Hollow Knight: The Sanctuary mod has received a new development update, giving Hollow Knight fans hope it might be coming relatively soon. While Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight has become massively successful since its 2017 release, fans have taken it upon themselves to add even more content to the game through various mods.

These Hollow Knight mods can take many forms, with some altering boss fights and others adding new skins and even English voice acting. In addition, some add brand-new areas and fights to the world. Among these is the in-development Hollow Knight: The Sanctuary, an ambitious mod announced in 2021. Helmed by The Sanctuary Team, the modders look to create an expansion brimming with new content, including an original area, fresh music, and much more. Unsurprisingly, many fans of the original game were excited by the prospects of this new unofficial DLC. While little news about the project has been heard over the past few years, the mod recently received an encouraging update.

Hollow Knight: The Sanctuary Mod is Still in Development

Besides confirming the mod’s continued existence, a call for playtesters was made. While not everyone could become a playtester due to limited spots, the modder promised that more news about The Sanctuary would be coming in the weeks ahead.

This development update for The Sanctuary has excited many fans, some of whom had started to doubt the project was still alive.
