Arrowhead Game Studios is working to improve its Helldivers 2 update development pipeline, according to a newly spotted job listing, which also includes some additional details on how the company aims to do so. The developer’s ultimate goal is to have future Helldivers 2 updates completed and delivered on a more consistent basis.

April 8 marked the 14-month anniversary of Helldivers 2 releasing for the PS5 and PC. Arrowhead’s latest title ended up becoming a massive hit, selling over 15 million units by November 2024. The game managed to maintain a decent chunk of its early momentum with post-launch updates, although the timing of its content drops has historically been somewhat unpredictable.

Helldivers 2 Developer Comments on Game’s Rocky PC Performance

Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Shams Jorjani is weighing in on widespread performance issues within Helldivers 2, saying updates are in the pipeline.

Arrowhead now seems to be rethinking its development practices with the goal of delivering future Helldivers 2 updates on a more consistent basis. That’s suggested by a recently published job opening for a Senior Release Manager, first spotted by VideoGamer. The key responsibilities of the advertised role include improving Arrowhead’s “release management pipeline” by defining and enforcing standards, refining processes, and ensuring consistency across the board. Arrowhead has been advertising this opening since the week of April 7. The listing characterizes the role as part of the company’s release management team expansion, suggesting that Arrowhead already has at least one other release manager on payroll.

The primary purpose of the release manager role is to ensure that Arrowhead’s updates are “released on time” and “meet quality standards,” the listing reads. Both of these stated goals posed challenges for the company in the past, with numerous prior Helldivers 2 updates leaving players frustrated due to bugs, performance issues, and delays. Most recently, players have complained about the game’s problematic performance on PC, with their grievances proving loud enough that they even elicited a response from Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani. “We are 100% aware performance ain’t great now,” the executive wrote in an April 2025 message posted to the game’s Discord server, all the while asking fans for patience while the developer addresses the current issues.

Next Helldivers 2 Update Isn’t Coming Before Late April 2025

In a separate Discord message, an Arrowhead community manager going by “Baskinator” revealed that the next Helldivers 2 update won’t be released this week, while adding that the developers will also be off on Easter Monday, April 21. The upcoming patch hence won’t be rolling out before late April at the earliest.

The update itself is expected to address at least some of the current known issues with Helldivers 2, such as blurry visuals caused by anti-aliasing and material errors on various armor pieces and capes. The bug occasionally causing players to get stuck on the Pelican-1 ramp during extractions is also expected to be fixed in the near future.
