Now, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has become the latest flashpoint, as fans are clearly unhappy with its PS5 physical edition.

Essentially, this means those who buy the physical version gain no real advantage over digital buyers, aside from the ability to transfer ownership more easily. This has disappointed many fans, particularly those who were hoping to start playing right away after inserting the disc.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Hid the Internet Requirement

One of the main issues PS5 owners have raised with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s physical edition is that the box art on online shops doesn’t display the “internet connection required” badge. That’s despite the actual product featuring a label in front that informs users of the additional download. As a result, many are accusing the publisher, Bethesda, of false advertising. This isn’t the first time the company has faced such allegations. One of the earliest dates back to 2018, when Bethesda was criticized for misleading Fallout 76′s buyers with a low-quality bag that had been marketed as a premium Collector’s Edition item.

Some fans argue that Microsoft and Bethesda have shortchanged buyers by refusing to release the game on two discs. They suggest that Indiana Jones’ 125 GB file size could easily fit on two discs, but believe the publisher opted not to include a second disc to save on costs and maximize profit. Regardless of the actual reason for the decision, many fans have stated they canceled their pre-orders, claiming there is no point in getting the physical version. For those curious, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle launches globally on April 17, 2025, with a three-day early-access period for premium editions.
