Starting with Season 8, Blizzard will shift its focus to how Diablo 4’s seasonal model works, and instead of putting all its effort into temporary changes, the developer wants to evolve the base game. While Diablo 4 is gearing up to enter Season 8 on April 29, titled Belial’s Return, the developer has been dropping hints about what’s next for the popular ARPG, and in addition to new content and features, the upcoming season will have a stronger focus on improving the base game.
Diablo 4 has evolved significantly thanks to seasonal updates that have introduced new themes and gameplay improvements: Season of the Malignant, Season of Blood, Season of Witchcraft, and more. These updates have brought things like new endgame bosses, loot drops, powers, quality-of-life improvements, and even new mechanics. Besides new content and features, Blizzard has also been steadily releasing patches to address numerous issues that arise after every major update, especially related to balance, bugs, and crashes, among others. Now, Diablo 4 Season 8 is around the corner, and Blizzard has revealed an interesting shift in its approach to the game’s future updates.
