Day One Xbox Game Pass Game Delayed

Extreme sports game Descenders Next was supposed to launch in early access for Xbox Game Pass on Wednesday, April 9, but its release date has been delayed. April 2025 has proven to be a rather exciting month for Xbox Game Pass. The subscription service has already seen the addition of one of its highest-profile day one games of 2025, and there’s even more to come in the near future.

First-party Xbox game South of Midnight just hit Xbox Game Pass, while Grand Theft Auto 5 is coming on April 15 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is joining the lineup on April 24. Clearly, April is a big month for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, but it’s not been without its disappointments. Unfortunately, one of the games that was announced to be coming to Xbox Game Pass in April 2025 has been pushed back to a later date.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Confirms Another Game for April 10

Those subscribed to the Ultimate tier of Xbox Game Pass have yet another game to look forward to in April 2025.

It’s been confirmed that day one Xbox Game Pass game Descenders Next has been delayed. This decision was made after the recent Descenders Next demo on Steam, with the developers citing fan feedback from the demo as the reason for the delay. The team wants to “iron out” issues that fans brought up after playing the demo before the game’s early access launch. A new release date for Descenders Next has yet to be announced, but whenever it does come out, Game Pass subscribers can rest assured that it will do so as a day one Game Pass game.

Descenders Next Release Date Delayed

It’s definitely disappointing that Descenders Next is not hitting Game Pass on April 9 as previously announced, but subscribers still have no shortage of new games to play. Besides the previously mentioned games, there’s also Blue Prince to take into account, among other titles. Blue Prince is a day one game releasing for Game Pass on April 10, and it has already earned rave reviews from critics. In fact, Blue Prince is currently the highest-rated new game release of the year, so it should add significant value to the Game Pass service.

May 2025 is already looking fairly stacked for Xbox Game Pass as well. Game Pass subscribers can look forward to the likes of Revenge of the Savage Planet and To a T, along with Doom: The Dark Ages. The latter is easily the headlining new Xbox Game Pass game for May 2025, with subscribers able to check it out on May 15. Subscribers can check out April’s new additions in the meantime.
