Vampire Survivors Abandons Anticipated Feature for PlayStation Versions

Summary
- Vampire Survivors won’t offer cross-save on PS4 and PS5.
- Cross-saves will still be available on other platforms.
- Other future content should come to the PlayStation versions of the game without problem.
Vampire Survivors developer Poncle has recently announced that the game will not have the cross-save feature on PlayStation 4 and 5. The cross-save feature has been eagerly awaited by gamers who own Vampire Survivors on multiple platforms since it was revealed earlier this year, so this is very disappointing news for PS4 and PS5 owners.
Released in 2022, Vampire Survivors is one of the biggest indie hits of the current decade. Last year, the game received the Vampire Survivors: Ode to Castlevania expansion, its largest one so far.

Now, Poncle has announced that Vampire Survivors will not have cross-save for PS4 and PS5. According to Poncle, the team ran into a legal issue on PlayStation that they were not previously aware of, which required the developer to share information that it did not have access to so it could add the feature. Due to these unforeseen circumstances, the chances of cross-save on the PS4 and PS5 became very slim, but Poncle confirmed that the team is still working alongside PlayStation to try to solve the issue. The cross-save feature was originally teased as part of the next Vampire Survivors 1.13 update, and it would allow gamers to use the same save on all platforms. To enable it, gamers will have to create an account on Poncle’s official website and log on using all the devices that they want to share their saves from.
Vampire Survivors Will Not Have Cross-Save on PlayStation
Fortunately, cross-save will still be available for other platforms except PS4 and PS5. Also, Vampire Survivors has plenty of new features confirmed for 2025, and all the others will be available on Sony’s console. Some of these upcoming features include more content updates, online co-op, and the developer has even teased a major expansion.
One of the most surprising recent news about Vampire Survivors, however, is that the game will get its own movie. The Vampire Survivors live-action movie was revealed back in January, and it’s being created by Story Kitchen, a company with a proven track record of adapting video game IPs to other media like movies or TV. At the time of the announcement, Poncle also teased that Vampire Survivors will unveil more “cross-media” updates sometime during 2025, but did not give many details about what these projects will be.
